Estudo do setor das plantas aromáticas, medicinais e condimentares em Portugal
“Se não é fácil definir as PAM, muito menos fácil, é falar das PAM em Portugal. Este é um setor que evoluiu exponencialmente nos últimos anos, mas de uma forma individual, não concertada. Desde logo, por estes motivos, este é um trabalho muito meritório porque apenas pessoas dedicadas, empenhadas, e com muito “amor à camisola”, poderiam arranjar motivação para congregar informação fragmentada, dispersa, difícil de sistematizar e de analisar.
Mas este é um trabalho necessário e basilar, no atual contexto de uma economia circular que valorize, e tire partido de todos os produtos derivados de PAM. A evolução sustentada deste setor passa por conhecer, e dar a conhecer, as bases em que assenta, e como se pode melhorar e fazer evoluir o que existe. Foi com essa motivação que o autor deste trabalho, o Banco Português de Germoplasma Vegetal (BPGV), na pessoa da Eng. Ana Maria Barata e da Eng. Violeta Rolim Lopes, com a colaboração da Eng. Maria Socorro Rosário do Gabinete de Planeamento, Políticas e Administração Geral (GPP), e com o apoio da Associação para o Desenvolvimento do Concelho de Moura (ADCMoura), se propôs a dar uma visão geral atual do setor PAM em Portugal continental”. “If it is not easy to define MAP, it is much less easy to talk about MAP in Portugal. This is a sector that has evolved exponentially in recent years, but in an individual way, not in a concerted way. For these reasons, this is a very meritorious work because only dedicated and committed people, with much “love for the shirt”, could find the motivation to gather fragmented and dispersed information, difficult to systematize and analyse.
But this is a necessary and fundamental work, in the current context of a circular economy that values and takes advantage of all products derived from MAP. The sustained evolution of this sector involves knowing, and making known, the foundations on which it is based, and how to improve and evolve what exists. It was with this motivation that the author of this work, the Banco Português de Germoplasma Vegetal (BPGV), in the person of Ana Maria Barata and Violeta Rolim Lopes, with the collaboration of Maria Socorro Rosário of the Gabinete de Planeamento, Políticas e Administração Geral (GPP), and with the support of the Associação para o Desenvolvimento do Concelho de Moura (ADCMoura), set out to give a current overview of the MAP sector in mainland Portugal”.
